The 2017 Impact Celebration honored past California Assemblyman and former mayor of Berkeley Tom Bates with the 2nd annual John F. Steinfirst Community Award.  This award, named for Fred Finch Youth Center’s CEO from 1988—2008, recognizes an individual or group that has made a significant impact on the well-being of children and families. Special alumna speaker, Desi, shared her own inspiring story of how her experience at Fred Finch continues to have positive impact on her life.

The event was held on Thursday, September 28th, 2017, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. The program took place at Chevron Auditorium within the UC Berkeley International House on 2299 Piedmont Ave, Berkeley, CA.
